Terms of Service.
The booking and payment information for all classes, courses and events run by Watch the Sunrise are detailed on the book & Pay page of this website or where bookings and payments are bespoke and priced individually, please refer to the below and to the Ts&Cs which will be explained upon booking and payment. Payment up front is required to confirm a booking. If you cancel your booking the following refund/rescheduling applies:
For in person group classes at external venues if you contact Watch the Sunrise to cancel with more than 48 hours notice, you will be offered the choice of EITHER a refund less a £5 administration fee OR the option to re-schedule your full booking payment amount to another future class or event with places available. If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice you will only be offered the option of rescheduling your booking payment amount to another future class or event with places available.
For one-to-one online sessions if you cancel with more than 24 hours notice you will be offered the choice of EITHER a refund less a £5 administration fee OR the option to re-schedule your booking payment amount to another future class or event with places available. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice you will only be offered the option of rescheduling your booking payment amount to another future class or event with places available.
For one-to-one in person sessions if you cancel with more than 2 weeks notice you will be offered the choice of EITHER a refund less a £5 administration fee OR the option to re-schedule your booking payment amount to another one-to-one session, future group class or event with places available. If you give less than 2 weeks notice, due to the venue/s Watch the Sunrise uses being unable to refund booked rooms with less than 2 weeks notice, you will be offered a part refund of the price paid for your session minus the cost of venue hire booked for your session.
For events such as retreats or workshops [stand-alone events with multiple occupancy for attendees] if you cancel less than 2 weeks before, you will not be offered any form of refund as Watch the Sunrise will still have to cover the cost of the event and potentially related costs which are charged per person by the venue, and Watch the Sunrise is a small business. However if with less than 2 weeks notice you decide you cannot/don’t wish to attend the event you’ve booked and paid for, you have the option of selling your ticket onto someone else [within safe, honest and ethical parameters], however, if you do resell a ticket, you MUST inform Watch the Sunrise as soon as possible and n less than 48 hours before the event, and the new ticket holder MUST complete the registration form. If you cancel an event with more than 2 weeks notice, you will be offered a part refund of the ticket price minus a £5 administration fee.
For bespoke paid bookings with Watch the Sunrise such as a booking to deliver a meditation session at an event/festival/within a wellbeing course/workplace/conference/other tailored booking, once payment has been received, it is not fully refundable due to the amount of work that watch the Sunrise will dedicate to creating the unique content for the booking. You will be offered a part refund as follows: with more than 8 weeks notice a 50% refund, with 4-8 weeks notice a 25% refund, and for less than 4 weeks notice there will be no refund available.
With all of the above terms, Watch the Sunrise reserves the right to offer a whole or part refund outside of the conditioned outlined, in exceptional circumstances at the sole discretion on the part of Watch the Sunrise, on a case by case basis.
Watch the Sunrise reserves the right to cancel any and all classes/courses/events without prior notice [for example due to unforeseen situations/adverse weather conditions/extenuating circumstances] and in this case customers who have already paid and booked to attend will be contacted to this effect as soon as is feasibly possible and a full refund will be given within 7 working days.
If any customers have a complaint they should contact Watch the Sunrise in the first instance. If the grievance cannot be resolved between the customer and Watch the Sunrise, the complaint will be dealt with by The British School of Meditation [BSoM]. If you would like to see a copy of the Watch the Sunrise grievance policy, get in touch using the Contact page and it will be sent to you within 10 working days where reasonably practicable.
Code of Ethics.
Watch the Sunrise adheres to the Code of Ethics provided by The British School of Meditation [BSoM]. This includes but is not limited to: ensuring the safety and protection of both Watch the Sunrise and its service users, having the relevant policies/procedures and adhering to them, maintaining high quality standards of meditation teaching, having appropriate, ethical and respectful conduct at all times, setting and maintaining professional boundaries, appropriate communications and signposting.
As part of ensuring I follow the code of ethics as a BSoM qualified meditation teacher I have an Enhanced DBS certificate and public liability insurance.

Data Protection.
Watch the Sunrise adheres to the Data Protection Act 2018. Members of the public who book and pay to attend a service provided by Watch the Sunrise will be asked to complete a compulsory form which includes personal details and contact details necessary for communication and health and safety purposes [see ‘Disclaimer’ and ‘Student responsibility’ sections below for more details]. Service users provide these details with the understanding that they will be stored safely and securely by Watch the Sunrise and will be safely and securely deleted when they cease accessing Watch the Sunrise services. Only the information needed to comply with health and safety, code of ethics, British School of Meditation membership, insurance compliance and to communicate with service users is collected, and this is all stored safely and securely.
If individuals have signed up to the watch the Sunrise email newsletter, they give permission for their name and email address to be kept for the purpose of being an email newsletter recipient. By subscribing, individuals agree to receive emails [usually fortnightly/monthly but sometimes more frequent] containing meditation tips, class updates, and other related content. Individuals personal information will be kept confidential and stored safely and securely and will never be shared or sold. Individuals can unsubscribe at any time via the link in watch the Sunrise email newsletter emails.
You have the legal right to access, view, update, erase, and withdraw consent in relation to the person details Watch the Sunrise holds regarding you. If you wish to exercise any of these rights you can get in touch and can also find out more about your rights on the ICO website.
Disclaimer.
Content included in the Watch the Sunrise website, journal posts, email newsletter, social media posts, promotional and marketing materials is for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice. If in any doubt please consult a healthcare professional before starting any new wellness practice. When signing up to a Watch the Sunrise class, customers are asked to fill out a form which identifies any existing medical and/or mental health circumstances which require the individual to seek advice from a healthcare professional before beginning meditation classes. It is the full responsibility of the service user to do this, and Watch the Sunrise takes no responsibility for this. Individuals attend Watch the Sunrise classes at their own risk. The form also highlights a range of other health circumstances that may indicate that lesson content/room setup could be adjusted to ensure it is as accessible and inclusive as possible.
Watch the Sunrise classes/courses/events are delivered by Emma May Cruickshank DipBSoM. Emma qualified with Distinction in June 2025 in the Diploma for Meditation Teaching, a course provided by the British School of Meditation [BSoM]. The Diploma is a Level Three course fully externally accredited by Ascentis awarding organisation and registered with OFQUAL. Emma of Watch the Sunrise is registered as a full member with the BSoM and listed as a qualified meditation teacher on their website. Emma of Watch the Sunrise is an expert in teaching meditation and does NOT offer guidance/advice/support on any health or medical areas, however in line with the code of ethics, will provide signposting to service users where relevant and appropriate.
Student responsibility: contra indicators.
Meditation is a safe and effective stress management tool. However, all customers who register to be a student in Watch the Sunrise meditation classes/courses/workshops/events will be asked to complete a (compulsory) registration form which includes but is not limited to declaring if they are under the care of a mental health/healthcare professional and whether some specific health circumstances known as ‘contra indicators’ apply to them. If the contra indicator boxes are ticked then the individual is responsible for seeking consent from their healthcare professional about the suitability of meditation classes for them. Individuals are asked to declare that they have said written or verbal consent from their healthcare provider/mental health team to attend meditation sessions AND that they will notify their mental health team/health care provider should their health or symptoms change during the classes/course/events they attend. Individuals take full responsibility for their choice to attend meditation sessions.
Liability.
Watch the Sunrise endeavours to take every reasonable precaution for the safety of your belongings at the venues used for meditation classes/events, however WILL NOT be held responsible for the loss or damage to any of your personal effects during meditation sessions delivered by Watch the Sunrise. Attendees bring along their personal belongings at their own risk and take full responsibility for them at all times.
