Watch the Sunrise Journal
I love to write and it’s one of the few things I‘ve done consistently throughout my life…as those of you who know me well will remember, I wrote a blog for several years back when I had my small sewing business which I set up after I had my youngest son. I enjoyed penning the blog so much I returned to writing stories, something I’d done on and off since my teenage years, and finally won a short story prize around a year ago after entering more competitions than I can remember. As much as I felt hugely proud of winning something related to my writing, and as much as I’m thrilled each time something I’ve written is published, I realise now that it is the act of writing itself that empowers me to observe, acknowledge, process, and let go…it is the perfect partner to my meditation practice.
You can read my journal entries here as I reflect on mindful living, the science behind meditation and how it impacts our brains and bodies, and the experts who inspire me…and how this all sits among the joyful and often overwhelming, confusing and endless washing machine cycle and snack production that is the chaos of my family life.
Enjoy, Emma x

How could meditation benefit you?
When we reach a relaxed but focused state in meditation, we are essentially giving our bodies and minds a break; a chance to recover and rebalance. This can lower blood pressure and heart rate…
Meditation and me.
The penny finally dropped that meditation was the philosophy I wanted to live by, when I observed one day how I was speaking to my boys while telling them off. The voice I heard didn’t sound like me. It was like I was watching someone else, and I knew something needed to shift.
